Backup Policy
Incremental Backup
Incremental backups are performed 6 nights a week, Monday through Saturday at 10:30pm. Only files and messages that were created or modified since the 10:30pm the evening before will be backed up. All incremental backups save sets will be deleted after full backup on Sunday evening. Note that files and messages that were created and deleted during the day cannot be backed up and are unrecoverable. Also note that incremental backups are for Ashland Home Net’s internal use only.
Full BackupFull backups are performed once a week on Sunday at 10:30pm. During our weekly backup, all file and mail messages will be saved to a separate storage medium. We keep a 4-week cycle of full weekly backups at one time. Note that files and messages that were created and deleted from midnight of Sunday to midnight of Monday cannot be backed up and are unrecoverable.
Archived BackupArchive backup is a full backup that is performed at the end of every month. Archive backups are retained for 1 full year before being recycled.
